The Idea Of Tommy & Daniel

Hello Everyone welcome back to another blog post! Today post is actually a special one since "The Step Love" turns one year today and I asked everyone what plans I should do and by the way I loved the answers from bookstagram but I decided maybe I talk about how Tommy and Daniel came to reality for me to talk about them all the time to you guys.

I remember it was 2015 and I was sitting in my room thinking of what else to write then this boy appeared into my mind and I thought about it twice then I saw another boy came as his brother then that's where I saw a Tommy and his little brother Daniel, then I started to see a boy and a girl forming something together and that's how Sarah and Tommy came then other more people plus Harriet too and the ideas for making Tommy and Daniel are not really my strength or anything, I think God knew I was an author since I was writing The Little Bear Stories and I wrote The Last Day Of School Term in 2010 then I took a long hiatus for two years from writing, so I think what made these boys a thing was that I missed writing so I decided to pick it up again and it was one of the greatest things I did.

what I loved writing Tommy and Daniel was how realistic I made it became I saw Tommy as a real teenage boy going through these issues and also not loving life with his stepmother and how his little brother Daniel sort of doesn't understand his big brother's strangeness but wants too, I think I saw Daniel a lot as myself when I his age I was adventurous and I loved to always have an adventure with myself and I connect a lot to that and Tommy on the other hand, I see the male pride of him not afraid to express his emotions, he doesn't care who you are, he'll let you know he isn't happy and I think that's a good trait to have, I know boys don't like expressing their feelings.

so when I wrote Tommy I wanted him to be a bit open and brave about some things to inspire boys today to speak up for things and mental health, it feels like everything is about Women/Girls these days, but Men and Boys are struggling too and they are having it worst, since they don't like to talk about things they're going through, so many asked about Tommy's mental health and how's he doing with it?

Tommy has been trying a bit with his mental health he doesn't really get angry anymore like in book one, but he been struggling with a bit of meltdowns, so I think Tommy is improving a lot because throughout the books I've written I can see his mental health has gotten better a lot, I think most of the time it comes from just missing his mom, but I think Tommy is starting to understand how proud his mom is of him and Daniel has gotten to the age wanting to know about his mother a bit more, if none of you don't know Daniel was only three when their mother died ,so he doesn't know her that well, that's why he tried to take the photo album in book one so he can see who his mom was but Tommy didn't like him to know because he was seven. *Everything for Daniel wanting to know their mother is revealed in book two* but for now I hope you all enjoyed this post.
